A lawyer, who goes by the Twitter handle @Egi_nupe_, explained that the legal system doesn’t operate based on emotions or personal biases. He shed light on the case of the mųrderad as UNIPORT student, Damian Okoligwe, a 400-level student accused of k!lling his 20-year-old girlfriend.

The lawyer clarified that even if the accused person admits guilt, the court still must officially consider them not guilty, as this is a standard procedure. He shared this insight after seeing a tweet where someone threatened to curse any lawyer representing the alleged murdær.

In a detailed tweet, the lawyer emphasized that the law doesn’t follow emotions or prejudices. He reminded everyone that, by law, the accused is considered innocent until proven guilty. Even if the accused pleads guilty, the court will officially record a plea of “not guilty.” This is the usual practice in capital offense criminal trials.

While some found this information educational, others were perplexed. They all hope for justice to be served and for the murderær to be held accountable.
