Spyro, the Nigerian singer and songwriter, also known as Oludipe Oluwasanmi David, recently took to social media to talk about his experiences with fame after being at the top for a year.
The artist gained fame for his track “Who is your Guy,” first dropped in 2022 and later revamped in 2023 with the addition of Tiwa Savage, an Afrobeats singer.
Spyro recently posted on his Instagram, sharing his one-year journey at the summit. He pointed out a common trend he noticed among those at the top – they tend to be unsupportive of those striving to join them in reaching the pinnacle. According to Spyro, this observation holds significant importance in the upper echelons.
The 33-year-old singer said that when people from lower positions try to move up, others often criticize or mistreat them, even if those below initially supported them. The artist urged those in lower positions to persevere and strive to reach the top as well.
He ended with the popular phrase: “NO GREE FOR ANYBODY WEY NO GREE FOR YOU” The singer’s written thoughts have gained traction on the internet, with some agreeing and sharing their own perspectives, while others hoped for more detailed examples to explain his observations.
