In Port Harcourt, a tragic event unfolded when Justina Nkang, a third-year Biochemistry student at the University of Port Harcourt, was discovered dead at her boyfriend Damian’s place.

Damian, a fourth-year Petrochemical Engineering student at the same university, had been dating Justina. She had gone missing for four days before this shocking discovery.

What’s more, the state’s Police Commissioner, Nwonyi Emeka, revealed that an anonymous neighbor of Damian became concerned after detecting a foul odor coming from his apartment.

The police arrived, had to force open Damian’s door, and inside his room, they found the dismembered remains of Justina Nkang in a bag.

Now, Damian Okoligwe, the suspect, is speaking out about Justina’s death. Despite compelling evidence pointing toward him, Damian maintains his innocence. Here’s what the accused individual had to say about this horrific incident.

In his conversation with reporters, Damian Okoligwe, the person suspected in this incident, explained that he woke up one morning to find the girl, Justina, lifeless in his home.

They were the only ones there at the time, and he claims not to know what caused her death. He admitted his mistake was not reporting it to anyone. Instead, he left the scene, not even moving her body or doing anything to it. Later, he returned and tried to dispose of the body because he feared being blamed for it.

He clarified that they had an on-and-off relationship, and she had spent the night in his room, while he stayed in the living room. In the morning, he found her dead.

As for my thoughts, Damian’s account is concerning, and it raises questions about the circumstances surrounding Justina’s death. The case as a whole is deeply distressing, and it requires a thorough investigation to uncover the truth and ensure justice is served.
