Nigerian rapper Odumodublvck recently shared some surprising insights about his relationship with smoking weed, known as Igbo in Nigeria.

In a recent interview on the 90s Baby Show, he revealed that he first experimented with smoking at the incredibly young age of 10 and later became a regular smoker by the time he was 16.

Odumodublvck explained how weed had a certain allure during his youth, almost like it was as potent as cocaine. At 10 or 11, he and his friends would handle weed, but they didn’t really know how to smoke it properly and didn’t experience the high.

It wasn’t until he was 16, during his time at UNILAG, that he truly began smoking every day. This consistent habit has continued for around 14 years, with only brief interruptions for surgery, like tonsil removal, or when he couldn’t smoke due to health issues. He emphasized that he’s been a daily weed user, except when he’s unwell.

When asked if he had become dependent on weed, particularly for creating music, Odumodublvck clarified that while it does help, he doesn’t rely on it. He can still record music without it, but having weed around doesn’t pose a problem for his creative process.

It’s quite astonishing that Odumodublvck’s journey with smoking began at such a young age and has been a consistent part of his life for over a decade. What are your thoughts on his experience and his perspective on this topic? Feel free to share your thoughts in the comments.
