Nigerian businessman and media personality, Ned Nwoko, recently shared insights about his family life and the reasons behind having multiple wives.
He explained that he and the Ooni of Ife have a similar background because both their grandfathers served in the House of Chiefs in the Old Western Region and participated in constitutional conferences in London.
Now, they’re serving Nigeria by having multiple wives, in a somewhat humorous way.
Ned Nwoko pointed out the prevalence of women without husbands in the southern part of Nigeria, leading to a high level of prostitution.
He believes that if more men in the south, like their northern counterparts, embraced polygamy, it could potentially address this issue.
He suggested that many men in the south have one wife but maintain multiple girlfriends, spending a significant amount of money on these relationships. In contrast, a man with several wives tends to focus his resources on his family and is less likely to engage in extramarital affairs.
When discussing his family arrangement, Ned Nwoko mentioned that his wives live in different locations. Two of them are in the United States, two in Nigeria, and two in Dubai.
He clarified that while they have separate homes, they occasionally gather at a central location. When he travels, he typically does so with one wife at a time, except for rare instances.
In response to a question about his favorite wife, he humorously explained that the latest wife, Regina, often holds a special place in his heart, likening it to how people favor a new shirt.
Regarding his children, Ned Nwoko revealed that he has 19 children, with his oldest child being 30 years old.
His children from his first wife are all graduates, and one of them achieved First Class honors in England. These children are independent and enjoy holidays with their friends.
