In the typical educational journey, we usually go from nursery/primary school to secondary school and then on to university. This is the expected path for most, but not everyone follows it.

Some individuals opt to pursue different routes like learning trades, starting businesses, traveling, or simply choosing not to attend university. Sometimes, people begin their university education but are unable to complete it due to reasons like financial difficulties, poor grades, or various other factors.

In this article, we’re going to highlight four former BBNaija Housemates who did not finish their university degrees. It’s essential to note that not graduating from university, while it may be perceived as a setback by some, isn’t always a hindrance to success.

Many accomplished individuals have thrived in their respective fields despite not obtaining a university degree. The individuals we’re about to mention fall into this category because, despite not graduating, they have managed to find success in their lives.

So, without further delay, let’s take a look at the list.

1. Angel

Angel Smith, a contestant from Big Brother Naija Season 6, shared that she once secured admission to the University of Lagos (Unilag) but left after just two weeks. Her reason for dropping out was that she found it very challenging. She hadn’t attended any lectures during that time, and the transition from her previous high school, where she felt isolated, was tough. Moreover, at that point, she wasn’t genuinely interested in pursuing an education because she hadn’t figured out her career path. Angel also disclosed that she began self-harming at the age of 14 due to depression.

2. Whitemoney

Another contestant from BBNaija Season 6 who didn’t complete his university education, and, in fact, didn’t even attend university, is Whitemoney.

He talked to fellow housemate JMK about his preferences in a partner, saying, “I desire a clever woman because I didn’t get to go to school due to the circumstances back then. I’m intelligent, but I never had the chance to attend school.

I want a situation where my kids ask me for help with their homework, and I can assist them. My primary focus is making money. I’m not great with math – their mother can handle that. If you’re talking about degrees, my siblings have plenty of them, but for me, just finishing my NECO was a big achievement, and I thank God for it.”

3. Ka3na

It’s reported that Ka3na, who participated in Big Brother Naija Season 5, didn’t attend university. Instead, after finishing her secondary school, she chose to get married.

4. Vee

Vee, a former contestant from Big Brother Naija Season 5, made a choice not to attend university. She told her parents that she didn’t want to go to a university but preferred to pursue a music career. Her reason was that she didn’t want to spend a significant amount of money on university fees and then end up disliking her chosen field of study. This was a tough decision, especially because she is the firstborn in her family. Surprisingly, her parents are proud of her, and she often finds their support astonishing.

Currently, Vee is dedicated to her music career and hosting events. Ka3na is thriving as a boss lady, while Angel and Whitemoney have become beloved figures from their season of the show and are expected to achieve great things in the future. While university education is valuable, it’s not mandatory for everyone.

It’s great to see that individuals can achieve success in their chosen paths, whether it’s music, marriage, or other pursuits, without necessarily holding a university degree.

What are your thoughts on this? Do you believe university is a necessity, or do you think people should be free to choose alternative paths like music or marriage? Share your opinions by leaving a comment.
